Turn the key on but not to the start position three or four times and then smell. They make a fuel injector leak down tester that will catch other fuel injector problems. http://www.amazon.com/all-sun-EM276-Fuel-Injector-Tester/dp/B0126MEK3C At the 8:15 mark this guy goes into how to use the tester. This message has been edited by padroo on 06-02-2018 at 11:24 AM akboy My friends Prowler was hard starting when Hot. Pressure test showed 58psi when running, and dropped to 0psi when shut off. We just installed a Jefferson Auto fuel pump kit.
Now the pressure reads 50psi at idle and the needle flutters, and again drops to 0psi we turned off. Its even harder to start than before. Is there something we missed?
Do we try another fuel pump? Any suggestions would be appreciated. robin I know one member had installed a new pump and it was still acting up. He went back in and the one gasket was not totally seated. Plus I'm sure you can contact Jefferson Auto they can offer up some suggestion . robin Great thread..

anotherpadroo The Prowler fuel pump has been know to be a weak spot in the fuel system. If it goes to "0" right after you shut the engine off it means you have a leak but it could be a leaking fuel injector causing the drop in pressure. Any leak in the system will cause it to loose it's prime.

Don,t know how it can work when immediately after the key is turned off pressure drops to zero. I only have pressure when engine is running.
